I’m interested in learning more about real foreign direct investment in the US as a result of Trump’s tariffs, the macroeconomic effects on employment (eg which sectors/industries are being impacted), real wages, etc.
I’m also interested in learning more about energy production in the US, exports of US energy, exports of US products, the impacts on the balance of trade deficit (could we ever expect to see a sustained surplus in this category?), effect on the national debt, effect on dollar and resultant currency flows
Also interested in learning what price inflation is directly resultant from tariffs, what is happening to corporate profits (are they eating tariffs or are they being passed along the value chain, which I suspect would need to happen at some point).
I know that countless topics can be discussed about various decisions being made within our own country whose policy decisions have global reaching consequences. But switching to some of the major geo-political events happening globally at this moment, which do you think will have the most far reaching positive or negative effects on the US. 1) Russia now losing a war to Ukraine and the absolutely economic tsunami that is headed for Russia in 2026 by Putin's decision to continue this illegal war into it's fourth year? 2) The fact that US decisions on military aid to NATO & Ukraine has caused a massive re-industrialization of a modern war machine being built in Europe from 2026 modern German tanks, Swedish planes, Ukraine naval drones as a few examples. 3) Greenland as a new joint military base for future Arctic trade routes and as a mining opportunity for the rare earth metals. 4) Venezuela now being much more influenced by the US vs the decades of Chinese and Russian investment and influence and what happens next? 5) What looks like the inevitable regime change happening in Iran right now.
Timeline for the IIJA bill is going to expire in September this year - what are your thoughts on getting the next round of surface transportation authorization? What "new" bills could be on the horizon, and what happens to any unspent/unallocated funds from the IIJA?
From getting a new Fed chair to talks about "nationalizing" elections, what could we expect in terms of political uncertainty in the coming months? Would the impending 2026 midterm elections affect this at all?
If the new fed chair dissents from the other governors over interest rate decisions, what kind of reaction can we expect from the markets?

Just a couple things, really.
